Question

I saw the most beautiful plant in a Kroger in Georgia where I live . The only trouble, is that the price of the plant was $26.95. I can not afford a plant that expensive. My Question is, has anyone else seen this plant as I have never seen one before? I would like to know where I could find the plant at a more reasonable price or even maybe get the seeds to grow myself. I fell in love with this plant! Thank you for any answers.

Hi Twitty,

In doing a search for a source, I came across this discussion on GardenWeb. They mention several places.

Pitcher plant

The pitcher plant is a bog dwelling, carnivorous plant. The Native Americans claimed it cured small pox. Thus, it is also called the small pox plant. I have seen them growing wild in the bogs at Cranberry Glades, WV.
