Tie split branch back to the main tree
Hi,
One of my pinetree's branch is splicted by snow. I want to put it back and tie it to the main part. Anybody have some ideas? I do not want to cut it since this could happen in other trees.

If the wood is truly split...don't waste your time and energy. Cut it out near the main trunk using correct technique. Any bare spots will fill in quickly. If you try to tie it up somehow you'll just have a sickly, possibly brown, damaged branch that could cause more damage when it gets a heavy snow. Junipers like that are prone to snow damage as they get bigger. Nature of the beast. I've seen an entire tree leaned over and touching the ground. Once the snow melted they came back up.
I don't understand this statement "I do not want to cut it since this could happen in other trees." Of course it could (and probably will eventually), why would cutting this one or not make any difference?

Next to and just above your line of trees is what looks like an electric transmission line . . . . how long before the electric company requires all of these trees to be removed ?

I have a Cordyline plant that I have just planted, however, with the recent high winds, branches have dropped down. Can I tie them up, and if I do, will they recover? Failing that, do I just leave them to turn brown and then cut them off? Any helpful advice gratefully received. Cheers.
