Growing my daffodils without weeds and grass around them?
Hi. I have daffodils planted around three trees on my front lawn. They look nice when they are blooming, but as you can see in the photo, grass and weeds grow up around them. Could I put rocks down around the daffodils in order to prevent the grass and weeds from growing around the daffodils? If not, can you think of something else I could use to prevent the weeds and grass from growing up around the daffodils? Thank you for your insight.

Grass and weeds will just grow through the rocks.
Preen would help with the weeds but not the grass.
A thick layer of mulch will stop the weeds and grass.

I'd remove all the grass/weeds that I could and then lay down newspaper covered by mulch. The newsprint will only last a year and sooner or later grass/weeds will come thru the mulch but it will look nice until then.
