I have a plant, a Croton to be exact. I'd like to know if I can start a new plant with a piece of the existing one. If I can, what's the best way to start a new plant?

Propagating a croton
Crotons tend to be fairly easy to propagate from tip cuttings. You will need a good propagation medium specially mixed for rooting plants, evenly moist conditions, diffused sunlight, high humidity (usually achieved by covering propagation area with plastic so condensation can form underneath--but allowing ventilation through the bottom of the plastic to prevent disease), a rootzone temperature of about 75 degrees, and a rooting hormone to promote root propagation. A tip cutting includes a healthy tip with a portion of the stem. Remove lower foliage to expose bare stem.
