Someone gave me four little starts. Have any of you grown these perennials and what can you tell me about them? I have read about them in the plant encyclopedia. I am trying to decide where to put them. I have several options and would like to know where they grow the best. I am in south central Indiana, Zone 5. Thanks.

Rose campion

Rose campion prefers full sun and prefers medium wet soil but will tolerate dry. Low maintenance. It tends to self seed, but deadheading can prevent that. The wooly foliage is as beautiful as the blossom.

Thank you for your reply. Do you know how quickly it will spread if in the best location?

Propagation of rose campion

Rose campion blooms June-August. It is a short-lived plant, usually declining in 3rd season. Sometimes it acts as a biennial. It self seeds. Deadheading is recommended for continued bloom, but before going to seed leave some blossoms for self-seeding. Propagation by seed is easier than by division.
