Question

I am planning on installing a new flower bed next to my house but there are vents from my dryer and dishwasher along the wall. I'm new to gardening so I am not even sure if it is possible to plant in these conditions (with hot air blowing on the plants). The wall is so bare and boring, just screaming for beauty! Any suggestions? How about hiding an air conditioner unit?

Planting next to exhaust vents

You might want to consider planting plants that like dryer, warmer conditions in front of your exhaust vents. AC units need adequate air circulation for recirculating the air into your home, thus it is probably not a good idea to plant anything around them that will block the air flow.

Hello,

I had a similar problem with a garden bed in front of my dryer vent. I planted a couple of rose bushes and they don't seem to mind the occassional blast of hot air.
