What is wrong with these raspberries

Folks:

See the attached photos. We live in Utah. These raspberry plants were started 3 years ago. Their yield last year was rather good; flavor was outstanding. This year we had a rather wet spring and now have a horribly hot summer; however, by early summer I saw lots of berry starts on last year's new growth but the berries NEVER matured. Now many of the 2nd year are already showing signs of death and overall, still no berries maturing.

Last fall we did prune and remove all the 2nd year that had died, to leave room for this year. I also added more drip watering to them so they get 5 minutes of drip watering daily. It's really not a flooding just consistent water each day that likely soaks down a few inches.

The green foliage is strong it is just the dead sections and the fact we have NO berries this year. Not sure where to start to try to solve the cause. Any thoughts and directions to research would be well appreciated.

By the way, they are on the south side of our home so they get lots of sun in the day and are only shaded in the morning till about 11:30 to 12:00 then full sun till sunset.

A quick internet search got this as one of the results.
"Without nitrogen the leaves turn yellow and growth is spindly. ... If they are kept too wet for long periods of time, the roots are unable to absorb iron from the soil and the leaves start to turn yellow from lack of iron. Iron chlorosis in raspberries is a common problem, especially in plants grown in clay soils." quoted from google.
