No Idea What This Is

Little lady must have planted these so time ago, about 20' tall, I have 3 of these around my deck.

Kind of early here but I don't see any sign of leaves coming, sure hope there are more than little red balls.

Thanks

A leaf would be a better identifier but my guess is a Silver Maple. Bark appears to be gray and smooth. The red balls are flowers for seed production.

I have a silver maple in my front yard. I knew I've seen those buds somewhere before - maybe that is where ?? Our maples are already full of leaves.

I think you nailed it Tolyn, I've never heard of them. Bark is gray and smooth, branches tilt up near the end.

After much reading and videos yesterday I don't think a person should plant these things close to anything. My guess is she wanted a fast growing Maple but being only 10' from the deck isn't good.

The one in the picture is only 10-15' from the basement.

Here is a pretty good video, I'm tempted to cut mine down now while it's small.

Thanks guys.

I have a 35 year old silver maple in my front yard. It's 50'-60 ft tall. I would not want it close to the house.
