I am rearranging beds due to some improvement. It is summer. 1) I have Asian lilies around. Can I just snip those, pull the bulbs, store them for a bit, and replant for next year? If so, best way to store? 2) I have hostas, a well established day lily, and some blue fescue plants. Can I cut them back, split them and replant? I understand that care would have to be taken at this time of the year. In particular, I have a 5' wide hosta that I want to split and transplant. On that one, the bed faces roughly north and only sees sun early-mid morning and evening. Thanks!

Usually when I try to control viney type plants, I'll dig under with my little forked tool thingy to try and pull up as much of the root system as I can. A new kind popped up recently with thorns on it :eek: There was two of them and one pulled out pretty easily and had a bulb attached. Have no idea what it is. The second one tho I can't seem to pull it out and even broke my tool trying. :( Is there any way to kill it without hurting anything else? It's under some azalea bushes.
