What can I add to the soil to make my hot peppers hotter?

Hi Shakuhachi,

I could be wrong, but I don't think there's anything that will help the hotness. You have to buy a plant that's as hot as you want.

I make Jerk Chicken, and it calls for habaneros. It does NOT take much. Try that pepper if you want something really hot.

Hi,I agree there is nothing you can add to make them any hotter but if you will let the plants go dry (dont water) for a week to ten days before you harvest the peppers they will be much hotter. The fruit will have more of a oil than water content. If the weather wont cooperate pull the whole plant up by the roots and hang upside down in a warm dry location for a couple of days, then pick the peppers.Enjoy!
