Pumpkin Problem?

Hello,
I have some Connecticut Field and Casper variety pumpkin plants that are about 2 months old. Over the past two or three days I have noticed an increasing number of very small white spots on some of the leaves. Is this the beginning of the powdery mildew that I have heard about? I am a first time gardener and am not sure if this is the start of what could become a serious problem, or simply something that happens to pumpkin leaves. If this is powdery mildew, do you have any suggestions as to how to get rid of it?

I know this is a typical answer here, but take a leaf to your local nursery and they should be able to tell if it is a fungus, insect, or water problem - then sell you a product to deal with it.

Hi Alie,

It sounds like powdery mildew to me, but here's a pic of it to help you identify it.

Daconil is a good fungicide.
