I am using an aparment patio for my gardent this year...I want to plant a determinate tomato plant......I know the kinds...haven't decided yet....but what type of pot...clay or plastic...or does it matter...and what soil is best and I know feed is 5-8-10. I grew a sweet 100 and it did ok...but not like it should have...so I'm going with the bush

It does matter to some degree. Clay pots are very porous and the evaporation of water is quite rapid. I use the plastic ones that look like they are clay. During hot summer days they still may need water everyday.
