Hey gang!
Just like on sierra, down at the bottom of the 'reply' window, there is an "attach file" field
Guess we've got the best of both worlds here
Now, lets see some pictures

Gami,
This is a shot. I have no gardening pictures here, but I do have a picture of something else.
Yikes! 1 byte is the max size. I wonder how she did it???
I've gotta go buy a Y coupler for the hose now. If someone figures it out, let us know! I thought I had it

OK, here's what I figured out. If you right click on Lilypadis' photos, and go into Properties - it shows a URL address.
Also, right above this reply box is an "IMG" button, if you click on that, it gives you a box to type the URL address in. So I guess you have to have a website.
Fred, how about you giving it a try since you're already set up?

I was the one who started this thread thinkin' it was as simple as clicking on the "attach" button....

Guy and Gal,
I asked this question awhile back. This is the response I received:
You have to post the image to a web page, then link to it here using img and /img code. See the VB code info at the bottom of the page.
for example: This picture
PICTURE here
is displayed by coding the following:
{img]http://forum.doityourself.com/readersdigest/images/handymanmagazine.jpg[/img}
Change the first and last { } to square brackets [ ]

Hmmmmmmmm.... Now I guess it's a matter of what we find easier... posting on sierra, or getting a website. Personally, I'm for the former

Hi Fred,
The Member's gallery only has so much space. The previous moderator used to clean it out quite often, much to the dismay of some folks. BUT she usually asked us if it was OK to delete things. It really isn't as busy as it used to be, but then we're just getting into the growing season, so it should be picking up.

I was thinking! Oh, oh! If we can post pictures from websites, how difficult would it be to change it so we are able to post pics from our hard drives. Anybody know who answers these questions? Not everyone wants to go to the trouble of setting up a website.

Alrighty guys... I'm giving this a shot... I just set up a home page on geocities, and dug way in the back of my brain, past the cobwebs and the dust, to remember my HTML coding. Lets see if this works:

Hi Eric,
You probably have the coding correct. (as described in Shady flowers)
Yesterday Gami couldn't see her lil .gif picture. I reoaded it, and VOILA, it appeared.
Today it is back to a red x. A mystery to me.
We'll keep playing!!!!!

All,
I asked a former colleague, who unfortunately, is still slaving in the office. The only thing he could think of regarding the 'sometime' inability to load a picture here is that it may depend on internet traffic and that a picture will not load due to timing out. You know how some websites won't load or you get "website not responding". That was the only thing he could think of right now.

Eric,
Just so people know, Eric's pic came from my landlord's horse farm located on the other side of the lake - he raises and trains all sorts of horses (like Belgian Drafts), and he trains the handlers, as well.
Eric - I wonder of the trouble with the cardoon is its size? The file details under "Properties" indicates a negative value next to file size. Just wondering....

Hi Everyone,
Great pics! Beautiful orchard, Liz. There's one up the road from us, but no mountains in the background. That really sets it off. I'm glad to see it's working part-time.
Fred, would Tom be the person to ask how difficult it would be to change the imaging so they could be downloaded from the hard drive?
I may try this again, but for the moment, I'm tried out. I get real frustrated when things don't go right--after 3-5 attempts. I'm "rising" for Sierra.

Hi Casseylassie,
Your picture worked, and it looks like a duplex!
What kind of birds use them as home?
Hope you enjoy the forums here, a good bunch of people.
fred
Hey Gami - this one's for you.
