Unhappy My Azalea needs desparate help!!!

I just got an Azalea on Monday. Yesterday I was not here to water it. Now it has all wilted. Is there any hope for it? I watered it, but nothing is happening. HELP!!!

Hi tdbear ~~

You might try completely submersing the rootball (in the pot) in a tub of water. Let it soak for a good 15 minutes, then remove and drain well. It might recover

Hi Tdbear,

Florajo's right. I just wanted to add that some azaleas that come from florists are planted in a peat type mixture. Pull it out of the pot and see if it's regular potting soil, or if the roots are all enmassed in this other type. If this was a gift, it's quite possibly like that. The water just drains right back out and the only way to moisten it is to soak it.

Thumbs up

Thanks u guys! I have been babying it all yesterday and now today. I give it a little water then I check it a while later and give it some more if it doesn't feel moist enough. It looks pretty good now. Thanks again!
