shrub identification

hello, i have a shrub i cant seem to figure its name out. it has red berries on thin stems in the winter , in late spring it has these little white ball looking flowers on the end of the main stems. it has tear drop shaped leaves which are tipped in a red tint. the leaves are thin and not at all like a holly, though it seems to retain alot of green over the winter. also , the berries are smaller than a holly. and are not carried in clusters , but on skinny stems. what is this? it seems like a common enough shrub, i cant figure out and im becoming perturbed. thank you!

I'm thinking it might be some kind of decidious holly, but you don't seem to think so. Do you have a picture? There is a forum called 'Name That Plant' where you can post pics if you have them. You might want to post this there. Here's the link.

If they don't know, you might want to try the 'Shrubs' forum.

Let us know what you find out, please.
