Reznor F50

Hello,

I have a Reznor F50 heater with a standing pilot, and the pilot goes out as soon as I let off the pilot button. The sensor is engulged by flame and has been cleaned.

I've checked previous threads on this site and have done the recommended checks. It was mfd January of 1991, so my understanding from the manual is that there is no vent switch. (plus I don't see one)

The ECO is closed, the Limit is closed, the Fan Control/Fan runs when jumpered, there is 24mv at the thermocouple end and 18.6v at the gas valve terminals.

I also checked the magnet circuit by attaching one lead to the furnace cabinet and one lead into the thermocouple contact in the gas valve and it zeroed out. According to a previous thread, it seems that the gas valve may bad?

I wanted another opinion prior to replacing the gas valve. Also, should I replace any other components as a precaution?

Thanks,
Red

sounds like a thermocouple, i suggest replacing that 20 dollar part before spending hundreds on a gas valve.
