I have a Garden Treasures tall patio propane heater. It is less than a year old, and hasn't got that much use in that year. The heating part has remained covered up for most of that year (until the cheap cover that came with it shredded; bought a high quality one). I went to fire it up for the first time in a few months yesterday and it won't start. I'm following the guidance: Turn on gas, press and hold dial to vent any gas in the line, press and turn while also pressing the igniter. The unit fires and I'm supposed to wait 30 seconds, then turn the knob to the desired heat level. I can wait for 30, 60, 180, 300 or more seconds and as soon as I go to turn the knob to the desired heat level the flame goes out. I've seen videos talking about cleaning this part or that part; I'm skeptical because it gets so little use and has been covered up. I also have seen videos suggesting that I modify the unit to both disable the tilt switch as well as the part that dictates the lighting process vs. just turning it on and lighting. Before I go tear the thing apart, any suggestions on anything to be aware of or perhaps try? (full tank of gas, in a brand new tank that's never been used...I can do the obvious!)

Just trying to understand how this all works. Dont worry, I am not going to try something on my own and blow myself up. These are the burners, natural gas. This is the thermo coupler, correct? It has been cleaned and wire replaced. I need 3" wc and have a 3/4" feed line. All that to ask this; everything I have is old and plenty used. Is there a way to safely simplify this setup. I need a gas ball valve, then a gas valve, regulator, ignitor with safety, high temp shut off. I would think thats pretty much it...so i think. What think ye? Now that you are wondering, its a coffee roaster.
