Kerosene Heater

I have a salamander style Kerosene fueled heater in my garage. I am running out of sources for the Kerosene it burns to do its job. I have heard that I could use diesel fuel from a truck stop, (got lots of those, but with all the ethanol etc Im not sure whether I can or should use a diesel fuel. Any Help appreciated. down to last two gallons!

Kerosene is a much cleaner burning fuel over diesel. The smell will be stronger and you'll probably notice more soot. In an enclosed area I'd stick with using kerosene.

thanks Pete, I just found a gas station that has a Kerosene pump in the back. I will stick with the Kerosene. Just nice to know it will burn diesel if I get into a pinch.

Ya, there is a lot more odor/fumes with diesel. I have used mineral spirits [I'm a painter] and it burns clean but isn't cost effective.
