Kenmore dryer terminal block

My neighbor's dryer is a 3 prong cord and the apartment is equipped with a 4 plug. We have been trying to replace the cord, but one of the nuts holding the wires in the block is stripped and spins freely. We got the wires out of the block, but can't remove the machine screw with the square nut.
I'm ready to pull my hair out! How can I remove the nut without having to use a hacksaw to cut the screw?

Welcome to the forums.

Those blocks are easily replaceable. I always carry one or two with me.
Sometimes as long as the internal wire is tight.... I'll add an additional nut for the power cord.

Any appliance parts store will have them in stock. Common problem usually caused by a loose nut. That nut will never come off as it is welded to the screw. take model # with you as there are a couple of them.
