Gas vs Propane
#1

I am a true long term planner. We currently live in the city, have city gas. I love to cook and when we remodelled, we switched from an electric range to gas.
We are going to retire in the next 3 years and already have our land purchased "out west". We will not have city gas.
Having said all of that......can we purchase a gas range/oven that runs off of propane when we finally make the move?
TIA
Terry A.

Hi,
You sure can
Your natural gas appliances can/should also be able to be converted to work off of propane if you deside to take them with you
Most will need a conversion kit to change from NG to LP.

Hello: Terry A
Most new ranges can easily be converted. The required parts can be purchased seperately and the factory installed or supplied and included appliance regulator is convertable without the need to purchase addition parts for it or replace it. Same applies to oven thermostats.
The only parts that would be needed to change is the burner orifices. These are included in the conversion kits which may be available upon appliance purchase, may be included with the appliance at purchase or available at the retail appliance parts stores.
I suggest you buy the appliance already equipped for the fuel you will be using. Best method if it's possible. Buy locally too.
