gas wall heater

Wondering about the safety of a gas wall heater? Are these type of heaters efficient for a 800sq foot (small) rental house. Do they meet code for fire inspection? Any experience or thoughts.

Hello cottorh. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic & the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Much can be said both positive and negetive about a wall heater. If the appliance is in good physical and operational condition, they are good heaters.

However, just like any gas heater or appliance used for the purpose of providing room heating, they need to be inspected, serviced and occassionally adjusted to insure proper and safe operation.

Without an onsite inspection, there really isn't any way to determine positively safe and proper operation. I suggest you contact the gas utility and request a service call to inspect the appliance.
