Angry Gas Dryer No Heat

Okay, so the dryer is blowing cold air, still goes around, but no heat. Sometimes I guess if a catch it at a good time it will heat up, but not often. What do I do?

Hello: ddra79

The first thing to do is begin reading all the already asked questions pertaining to dyers that do not heat, are not heating, etc.

They are all listed below. Within them are the many links to help web page information and replies with all the possible cuases and the solutions.

Read them will provide you plenty of information to begin the diagnostic procedures and tests required to detertmine what the exact cause is and how to fix it.

Most common problem is a glowing hot surface ignitor which either does not glow hot enough, does not glow at all or the solenoids on top of the gas valve are defective.

Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes and solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, instructions, pictorials, schematics, which may be available online.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model and serial numbers.

Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs. Always check for gas leaks when ever a repair includes any connection of a gas part.
