gas dryer temp adj.

hello all. New member here, so I don't know if this has been covered before. For a Kenmore gas dryer, stock # 87475820, is there any way to adjust the drying temperature? I got this appliance used, and it seems very hot. It actually melted the bottom of the lint trap. Let me know what you think, and thanks for the help!

Hello MaddMick601. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Temperature is controlled by sensors. They are usually located by the blower fan. Usually attached to the fan housing case and or frame.

The sensors look like parts about the size of a quarter. The are installed in an oval plate with attachment ends. The sensor is in the middle. There will be two wires attached to them.

Usually two of these. They are not adjustable. Only replaceable.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the most likely possible problem may be. They will need the make, model and serial numbers.

Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts and problem resolving matters. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs.
