kenmoore gas dryer = no heat

Our Kenmoore Gas Dryer (Whirlpool Style-Version One) won't heat. The drum turns fine, but no gas flame/heat.

I have the door and lower access cover off, I have vacuumed out the lint. This model dryer is equipped with an automatic ignition system that I don't know how to troubleshoot. With the door switch in the closed position, I start the dryer, but no sparks or sound/smell of gas is emitted. One click is heard, but that is about it.

I have moved the controls to various positions, with no change in the heat. I think it is in the burner/ignitor, but don't want to just start replacing parts. I have average to above average mechical and electical skills with some consumer level test equipment.

The dryer has performed well in the past, and with three teenage daughters, I am really under the gun here...

Help !!

I have found two components that can be serviced. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot these parts ??

the coil kits http://www.repairclinic.com/0081.asp?RccPartID=3479

and the igniter. http://www.repairclinic.com/0081.asp?RccPartID=3415

The actual burner assy is at:

I don't know about specific dryers but based on the pictures of the parts you have listed it seems like it has hot surface ignition. In other words the second item you have listed should glow red hot and this will ignite the gas. The fact it is not glowing may not necessarily indicate it is at fault - power may not be getting to it. The first step is to remove the electrical connector to the ignitor and use a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the connector when you start the dryer. If it reads 120V but the ignitor does not glow this is likely to be the faulty part - if not further trobleshooting is required.

thanks rav12...

it wasn't any of the parts shown, rather it was a thermal fuse.
