Gas oven won't work

I have a GE XL44 model # JGBP26GEN4AD gas, pilotless, electric ignitor. It worked fine one night then the next morning the burners on the stove top work fine but the oven, broiler, and self cleaning won't work. There is no gas smell, no glow, no sound, nothing. Everything is set electronicly and everything there is displaying what I want. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello JMPull and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.

If you have a volt meter, test for voltage to the ignitor. To do this, remove the quick disconnect wire connection at the glow ignitor. Than test for voltage going into the ignitor at the quick disconnect. Voltage should be house current, 120 volts.

If voltage is present, with all the controls selection set currently, the ignitor is defective. If there is no voltage, chances are the main circuit borad is defective.

Electronic appliances controls are more difficult to diagnose. Usually takes a tech to determine the exact cause. The board may be the cause. May be an oven/broiler fuse in the appliance located in in the oven compartment or below the lower inside oven plate near the gas valve. Follow the power cord into the appliance.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and dealers are listed in the phone book.
