Arrow Question Moved To Heating Furnaces

The fan on my furnace keeps cutting on and off, it goes through a 15-20 second cycle. (The furnace does not actually turn on though it is just the fan.)

The only way to stop it from doing this is to turn up the thermostat (digital), however once the temp it reached it will start clicking on and off again after about a half and hour.

Turning the thermostat down will not stop the fan from turning on and off, I either need to raise the temp, or turn it off completely to stop the fan.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? What did you do to fix it? (could this be a bad thermostat?)

(ps. the thermostat is digital, and it uses a battery)
