Gas Stove repair question
I have 10+ year old Whirlpool gas oven. The broiler lights but the bottom element does not light until there is a strong order of gas and it will typically light with a bang. The HSI glows a bright yellow to white and appears fine, I am assuming that the safety valve is functioning because I smell gas. I have removed the burner and cleaned it throughly, there did not appear to be any obstructions there. I lit it manually and it appears that there is very little gas getting to the burner, over a 5 minute period this improves but initially the flame is mostly just on one end. Any ideas before I admit to defeat?
Thanks, Bill

Could be an igniter is getting weak. If the igniter is close to or a little below the low end amp reading than the gas valve may try to open a little. Only a small amount of gas is released and ignition is poor or none at all. This happens quite a lot. Are you able to take an amp read??
