GE Profile gas oven

We have a GE Profile gas oven w/ electric control panel, and have had it for 5+ years. The range and broiler work fine, however the oven no longer heats up. We have had no success trouble-shooting the problem by following instructions in the owner manual. Can you help.

Hello cltttlc. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.

If the hot surface glow ignitor (HSI) fails to glow at all, all other selections and optional selections on the control panel are set correctly, the ignitor will need to be replaced with a new part. Replacing it should or may solve the problem.

This link here will have plenty of information to help you.

Reading some of the existing posts on oven problems will also help to provide plenty of other possibilities. Additional Suggestions: Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, schematics, repair and or owners manuals which may be available online.

Cautionary Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance part stores and dealers are listed in the phone book.
