I recently purchased a 35 year old home. It has a Caloric Pilotless oven/broiler built-in. My problem is that it now fails to light. The "oven on" light comes on when I turn the temp. setting knob, but no fire or clicking of the crazy thing trying to light. The model number is RXP216 and serial #5071062. I am not sure when it was made though. Any help would be appreciated....Thanks

Hi:stevemapper

Be sure all the selection controls on the control panel are set to MANUAL. This is often the only problem.

If the oven has a glow coil ignition, you can remove the screws holding it in place, disconnect the wires attached to it from the quick disconnect and take the part to the local appliance parts store and have it tested.

If the oven has a spark ignition system, same applies. The spark moduel should be located under the bottom oven plate.

In all cases for the doityourselfer, unplug the appliance first. Read the prior posts for further do it your self information in the archives of this forum.

Good Luck,
