Question

The dryer door won't catch most of the time and we have to prop something against it so the clothes don't push it open. The latch on the door and the opening it goes in are both loose but when we try to move them to line them up it still doesn't work. Is there any easy way to fix this?

Hi:kotwas

If your sure it's only the door hindges causing this problem and not back pressure from a restricted vent, I can offer a solution.

A common type of flat hook and eye latch <found in the hardware store> can be used. Attach the two parts either with sheet metal screws or pop rivets.

Either method of attaching, <screws or rivets> you'll needed to pre-drill the holes on the dryer.

Good Luck,
