Unhappy

My GE profile stovetop got damp, and all the igniters sparked until it was dry. Then one of the igniters stopped working. How do I check it,and how do I access the igniter?
There is one tiny screw under the plate that covers the burner, but I am afraid to strip it if I try to remove it.

Hi:chucklil

You'll need to remove that screw.

First: Turn OFF the electric power or unplug the stove!

Use the correct type of screwdriver and turn the screw counter clock wise carefully. Be sure the screwdriver is seated in the screwhead squarely, and give it a turn.

Once the screw is removed, the burner should lift up and out. Then remove the clamp that holds the ignitor.

You may have to lift the stove top to gain access to the ignitor switches and the wires that go to the ignitors.

Good Luck,
TomBartco

Thank you for your prompt reply,Tom. When I took the knob off to check the valve, it would not move after I replaced the knob. So now I guess I have a whole new problem.
