Magic Chef: new oven igniter not opening new gas valve

After suffering with slow ignition we replaced the igniter and gas valve on an 15 year old self-cleaning magic chef oven. Still the oven doesn't light or lights after a loooong time -- 30-40 minutes and then doesn't relight when it reaches and falls below set temperature. A gentle knock on the valve will trip the valve, opening and igniting the oven immediately. Our technician suggested checking gas pressure. The gas technician said the pressure was normal. Where to go from here?

Take volt reading at valve witht'stat calling for heat. If volts are within the range printed on valve it sounds like a sticky valve, which doesn't happen very often. Also are you sure you have installed proper igniter?
