Smile gas dryer conversion

A friend told me that you could convert a gas dryer to an electric outlet. Is this possible? If so, how?

taylordee, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I am a bit confused as to what you mean by "convert gas dryer to an electric outlet".
Do you mean switch to an electric dryer? If so, yes you can if you have an electric outlet rated for the new dryer.
Please give a little more info as to what you want to do and use the reply button at the bottom of this post. Good luck.

My son has an electrical hookup in his apartment but wants to use a gas dryer. Is that possible? My friend said that there was a switch that you could buy to change it.

Gas dryers require 110 volts AC to operate. Electric dryers require 220 volts AC.

Are you looking to switch the burner in the dryer or the electrical outlet?
