Converting Propane Dryer to Gas

We are moving from a house that has propane to one with natural gas. I didn't see how the dryer was initially converted to propane. Now I want to convert it back to gas. What needs to be done to make this coversion.

Thank you,
Brian

You need the original parts that were supplied with the dryer, pre-conversion. It consists of a burner orifice and a vent cap for the dryer's gas valve. If you don't have them, you need to contact the manufacturer for the parts.

Hello Brian and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances topic.

Check with any local appliance parts store in your area. They can supply the orifice and advise you how to convert the appliance regulator. Most regulators only require the tower cap, on the gas control valve, be turned over and rescrewed back into the tower. All based upon the brand, model and serial number, which you will need to take with you.

If you are not comfortable with doing the work yourself, some parts stores will or may do the conversion for you for a small fee, if the gas control valve is brought into the store. Not all stores do this. You have to ask first.

The local gas utility, in some locals, also provide the conversion service free or for a modest fee. Ask them also.

Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs or services. Always check for gas leaks whenever moving the appliance and/or a service or repair includes any connection of a gas part.

It's always adviseable to clean the entire exhaust venting system every 2 years. Or during any dryer maintenance, connection, servicing and or repairs.
