Kenmore Gas Range, Oven slow to heat
Model Number 75875
My oven takes a very long time to reach temp. It will maintain temp once reached however. I have viewed the igniter glow and the burner element will kick on, yet the burner will go off after about 4 seconds, then the burner will come back on again after another 4-5 seconds(the igniter glows again). This is the pattern of how the oven burner functions, hence it takes almost 30 minutes to reach temperature.
Thanks

You may have a defective glow coil igniter. its possible that it is breaking down when it gets hot.the igniter is a resistor the hotter it gets the more voltage to passes thru it. your gas valve may need 3.5 to 5.3 volts to open should be indicated on the valve. if you know how to use a meter it can be tested.
