Converting Frigidaire gas dryer to propane?

I have an older (1989) Frigidaire gas dryer (model # DGDMF-W-O) in very good shape and I'm moving to a propane area. I'd like to find out how to convert it. For another dryer I have I've been told it's just a matter of replacing one jet and adjusting the regulator...for the Frigidaire I'm told there is a kit but it costs $55. Can some tell me if there is a cheaper way such as I just mentioned, a jet and an adjustment.

Both of what you describe are 100% correct. To convert the dryer all that is required is to replace both the burner orifice and the vent cap on the gas valve. Unfortunately, the price of the kit is outrageous and there is no way around it!

Try shopping around for the kit, you may save a few dollars.

It's always adviseable to clean the entire exhaust venting system every 2 years. Or during any dryer maintenance, connection, servicing and or repairs.
