GE Profile Performance Spectra XL44 front burner issues

Hi,

My parents have had their stove for no more than 2 years. However, couple months ago the maximum output burners barely output any heat. Even the Precise Simmer and the other regular burner outputs more heat. The oven works fine too. The burners aren't clogged. Does anybody have any advice on what I can check before I call a technician?

Thx.

Hello Rich. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Not heard of or familiar with such a specific problem with that brand or model. Generally, if all other burners and the oven work correctly, the problem is usually isolated to that one burners gas valve. Valve may be defective. Rare but likely.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model an serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

***Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs. Always check for gas leaks whenever the appliance is moved and/or a repair includes any connection of a gas part.
