Arrow Caloric wall oven/broiler not lighting...

We have a Caloric wall oven w/separate broiler from the late '80s that doesn't want to light anymore. Ironically, we are going to remodel the kitchen and ditch it, but we need a couple more months out of it...

The ignitor glows but the broiler flame never kicks on. The capillary in the oven has been hanging down for a couple of years since the clip that held it in place broke off. Can that be it? If so, are they universal or does it have to be for that model?

Thanks guys!

Hello syakoban. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic.

Hot Surface Igniter (HSI) defective. May glow but not HOT enough to allow the gas valve to open. Replace HSI. Very likely to resolve that condition.

When you are at the local appliance parts store, ask for the clips that support and secure the capillary tube. Install them onto the cap temp sensing tube and install the clips back into the holes. Doing so will avoid damage to the tube and allow the oven to maintain the set temperature.

Cautionary Reminder Note:
Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.
