Dryer=No Power

I have a heavy duty kitchen aid dryer, 6 years old. We have renovations in the basement and all the appliances (washer/dryer) were unplugged, i managed to plug in the washer because it had a cord, but im having difficulty trying to turn on the dryer, is there any manual power on or cord? all i see is a black wire with a large end attached to the wall and the dryer ventilation, any ideas on what to do?

The end of cord has a big plug end, right?, that plugs into a bigger type wall recepticle? Did you check to see if power is at the recepticle and/or make sure they did not turn off the breaker or pull fuses at the panel box for the whole house, while renovating in basement?
