I have a Whirlpool gas dryer that won't budge. When I push the start button, there is a buzzing noise and I can hear the timer starting.
I checked the house fuse, the chord and the door. The dryer is 14 years old, but in very good condition (according to an friend/electrician who tried to fix it but didn't have the right tools). The model# is LGV6848AWO.
Any other suggestion ???

Hi cami:
Maybe the buzzing noise is coming from the motor? What happens if you take off the belt and try to start it? Still won't start but buzzes/hums? You might have a bad motor or a bad motor switch. Plenty of pics/info at www.applianceaid.com Be sure to look at the pic that tells you about checking the motor endbells. Let us know how you make out.
