Kenmore gas range break-in?
I just bought a new Kenmore gas range (stove-oven) converted to LP.
My question is what is the proper oven break in as far as temp and time. I am refering to burning off oils and such.
I called Sears and they had no idea.

I've never heard of break in periods for ovens either. I've only owned electric ranges, but on the two brand new ones I've owned, I just fired up the ovens and proceeded to bake away. They might smell a bit for a minute or so, but that quickly burns off.

I don't know of any break in times that are in writing. However, I recommend to all that I install to run it at 400 for about a half hour.
Trust me, you don't what to be cooking anything while the oils are burning off.

Thanks guys...I just got the stove and it had 3 books/manuals that came with it. One of the said something similar to what Hank said. I just can't find that 3rd manual. I have 2 of them right here but have no idea where the heck the other one went.
I thought it said something about setting it to 350 and letting it go thru 3-4 on-off cycles but just don't remember exactly what it said.
I will try the 400 for the half hour and call it good.
Thanks again.

350 should work just as well as 400. If it says let it run for 4 cycles, then do that. The time frame sounds to be about the same. Four cycles may take a little longer, possibly 45 minutes.
