Red face Kenmore 90 gas dryer struggles & stops mid-cycle

I have a Kenmore 90 series gas dryer Model 76902691. To start the dryer I have to push and hold the start button. The dryer struggles to start. Once started, the dryer will heat and tumble normally. The dryer always makes make a low continuous noise (as if it were struggling). After about 10 minutes the dryer shuts off. You cannot restart the dryer again for quite some time. There is no problem with the heating or gas components.

I cleaned the vents and delinted the entire cabinet. I cleaned and lubricated the drum wheels and the drum belt is in good condition. The drum seems to spin freely. The motor spun
more freely after I cleaned it with an air hose, but I am not sure it is functioning adequately. The fan seems to spin okay, but again, I am not sure it is functioning adequately. How can these components be tested without actually replacing them?? Is the motor the probable item? If it is bearings, can they be replaced?? All help appreciated.

I'm thinking motor start/run capacitor, if you have one.

You can measure the capacitor value by putting it in series with 120v and a 25 watt bulb.
Measure the voltage across and the current through the cap. Then, V/I = Z, and C = 1/(377xZ) at 60 Hz.
10 uF at 60 Hz = 265 ohms (reactive).

In the DC metro area, Tribles sells $10 books on troubleshooting appliances. Geld hat gut ausgegeben!

Your dryer dose not have a start capacitor. You have a classic systems of a bad motor.here is a link to your dryer.

A lot of the time you have to cut the blower wheel off the shaft if you replace the motor. I always order a motor and blower wheel at the same time. Can always return blower if not needed.

Geld hat gut ausgegeben!

It's money well spent (Germans probably don't say it this way).
