Dryer doesn't stop

I have a Kenmore dryer M# 97575100 that is about 10 years old. The problem I am having is that the dryer will not stop at the end of the "timed dry" cycle . It will continue on to the "Air Dry- No Heat" cycle. Was thinking it might be the timer. Any suggestions?

Yep, timers do fail. Had mine go out at only two years.

But check for sensor signals that could cause this, especially if the timer is electronic.

These guys sell troubleshooting/repair books; maybe they can ship you one for your machine.

Put your dryer on hi temp setting on time dry for 10 minutes.
Come back after 20 minutes. Is dryer still running? Did the timer advance or still on 10 minutes. If still on 10 Minutes see if power is going to timer. If your getting power to the timer but the timer is not advancing it's your timer.
