Gas to electric back to gas

Okay, I am renting a house that has gas service in the kitchen and garage. The house currently has an electric range but I can see the gas tubing has been capped off. I really would like to put a gas range back in...the electric range is just unreliable and takes pampering.

What do I need to do to ensure a safe installation?

Or is the fuel natural gas???.....

Renting, meaning you're the landlord/owner???

If you're the tenant, have the landlord/owner call a professional or get permission to have it done.

If you're the owner or landlord, have it done professionally and write it off as expenses.

The gas line is natural gas. I am a renting tenant. I have called and received permission from the landlord to install a gas range.
