whirlpool gas oven knob

I've got a whirlpool gas rang, model no. SF317PEXN0 (that's a zero), and the numbers on the oven knob is all wiped out. It'll cost $27 to replace it, but all I need is the degree ticks. Does anybody have this oven and can tell me where what number goes or knows where to see a picture of it? It turns counterclockwise. Thanks, Chet

Only point to know about ALL oven thermostats is that exactly 180 degrees from the OFF position is 350 degrees.

Mark yours where the OFF position is.
Then rotate the knob exactly 180 degrees and mark that spot 350 degrees.

Next, continue to rotate from 350 until you hear a tiny click. That point, just prior to the click, will then be the 550 degree setting and just after that click will begin the BROIL position.

HINT:
Granted, $27.00 is a total rip-off for a knob. However, ANY oven knob that will fit the thermostat shaft will work, if your not picky about looks.

Therefore, check for one in any hardware store, second hand store or used appliance store.
