I have a black GE Profile gas stove that one side will no longer ignite. I had hoped that it was moisture but with weeks having passed I'm assuming this is no longer the case. I can light the non working side with a match so I know the gas is flowing.

Is this something that can be fixed by myself or it is best advised to get a qualified technician to fix

Lightbulb

Hi:ctolson

Unplug the stove first. Then check the wires going to the sparkers are in fact connected. Also check the wires at the switches and all wires for loose connections.

If you find nothing obviously or visually disconnected etc. then remove the wires from the sparker switches one set at a time.

Check for continuity thru each switch by turning the gas valve on and off. Check each wire also. <The meter needle will NOT swing over on the gauge or the light will NOT turn on if your using a flashlight.>

Locate the spark module and check the connections and wires there also.

Once you have done all this without discovering any cause for the problem, you may need to contact a servicing agent for this brand.

Good Luck,
