gass stove ignition isnt working

Question

hey guys, i have a gass stove no name on it anywhere, but it has evectric automatic ignition the stove top works but the oven dosnt make the electric sound or light
i wondered if you have any basic thech sketches so i can see what the hell is going on down there

Hi:chris

What I think your discribing here is a glow coil ignition that isn't working in the oven.

I have no drawings to display here. However, I can tell you to first be sure all the control panel adjustments are set to manual.

If they are and they oven still fails to work, unplug it first and check for a burned out fuse. The fuse should be located somewhere close to the oven gas valve.

If the fuse tests well, check the physical condition of the glow coil. If it's not broken, it may be burned out.

Remove it carefully. Take it to your local appliance retail parts store and have it tested along with that special type fuse.

Most likely one of the two or both may need to be replaced. Hope this helps you.
