Magic Chef nat. gas range oven slow to light
We have a 24-yr-old Magic Chef natural gas range with pilots, and the oven or broiler takes 15-20 minutes to come on after turning on. We have tried vacuuming out the white powdery deposits that accumulate around the pilots, but it doesn't seem to help. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hello wadp1 and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and the Gas Appliances topic.
Most common cause you may have attempted to resolve. Cleaning and clearing the pilot assembly.
As long as the constant pilot and the actuating pilot (larger flame that appears when oven is turned on, if there is one) are all blue, impinging the safety bulb element correctly, likely cause is a worn out safety element.
Safety element is that bulb element with the tiny tube leading from it going into the gas control valve. They become weak over time and can cause the problem you're describing. Only solution is to replace it.
Often the gas control valve gets replaced when the safety is replaced and/or element gets replaced when control valve gets replaced.
