Gas Oven not heating up
Hello,
I have a Frigidaire Gas Range - Model #GLGFS66ABC - Serial #VF20818622. I can see a red glow under the bottom panel but low or no heat. Sometime if we slam the door the gas kicks on and the oven works just fine. Also the stove top works just fine. Any help would be great.
My wife told me that the gas had a strange smell to it when she tried the oven once more today.

Hello Wooddiee and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and the Gas Appliances topic.
Based upon the initial problem description, a very common problem. A weak (HSI) Hot Surface Igniter. First best attempt to correct the problem would be to replace the HSI.
Cautionary Reminder Note:
Before attempting any cleaning or repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first.

Another suggestion:
Retail parts dealers and appliances parts stores can also help determine what the possible problem may be based upon that specific brand and model. Bring the make, model and serial numbers. Dealers and appliances parts stores are listed in the phone book.
