Top burner won't light when running gas oven

We have an older Tappan (electronic ignition) gas range top oven combination. The oven works fine. When not using the oven the top range burners work and start fine.

However, when the oven is running (drawing the gas supply) the top burners will not light. It is only possible to light them with an external lighting stick (lighter), while turning the gas supply to the burner to a lower level. The higher (normal lighting) level will blow out the flame on the lighter.

Does this mean that air enters the gas supply once running the oven? How could this happen?

Thanks upfront for your help

Solved

Okay, I'll answer my own question; maybe someone will benefit in the future. Basically I had another problem, the oven door was not closing properly. Therefore the range top got too hot when running the oven. Heat expands materials and too much of it probably caused my issues. After fixing the door, the other issue went away
